Timber Mood Boards: Hemlock

In our timber mood board series this month we are featuring hemlock. Hemlock has a natural lustre and is a pale, cream colour with distinctive growth marks and a fairly even texture. Attractive, delicate, dark grey or black streaks may be apparent in the wood. Hemlock pairs perfectly with textured stone, warm blues and clean lines.
Western hemlock is an evergreen tree from North America valued for its many commercial uses. It is often marketed as Hem-fir, as it has similar design values to the true firs.
