This month we are featuring American white oak in our timber mood board series. American white oak ranges from golden yellow to pale brown, although it may present at times a slight pinkish colour, and it is mostly straight grained with a medium to coarse texture. We have paired it with burnt oranges, rust and modern patterns that really complement the warm tones in this timber.
American white oak is a very versatile timber because of its stiffness and strength and has become increasingly popular for use in structural applications. It is similar in appearance and colour to the European oak.
