The Gemse apartment building, which will house a total of 20 holiday homes, is situated in the Swiss Alps in Andermatt. Drawing its inspiration from the mountain scenery of Switzerland, the emphasis is very much on traditional architecture without abandoning modern aspects. The property is built on a solid natural stone plinth which supports the main framework clad with timber. The outside appearance of the house is reminiscent of a typical Swiss log cabin.
Characterised by naturally comfortable living, energy efficiency, and a full range of design options, the structural frame of the building is a timber structure with Xlam ceilings. In terms of physical support, the building complies even with the strictest requirements regarding fire protection and noise insulation and guarantees high resistance in extreme weather conditions in light of the considerable snow load.
